Né de la passion

Born from passion

In 1991, Benoît Moro comes back from Marseille in the Sarthe to create LE MANS MINIATURES. He previously worked for Solido for one year, then at Starter in the South of France, where he developed his skills for seven years, by creating dozens of 1/43rd model kit cars.
From an early age Benoît was fascinated by miniaturization, and before cars he first sculptured wooden furniture. As the family apartment was close to the racing circuit of the Le Mans 24 Hours race, and to the famous garage “Guegen & Rivière”, he quickly became interested in motor racing, and in the spectacle of cars and teams which write a new chapter in the history of Le Mans every year.
At the same time he began assembling model kits, and then modifying them to make unique models for the magazine "Echappement". The models are built with finesse, and he is rewarded several times for his hard and accurate work.
Benoit became focused on the design and the production of kits composed of polyurethane resin parts in 1/24th, 1/43rd and 1/87 scales, and the team of 5 people in the company then developed two ranges of hand-built models in 1/43 scale. The GTS range is a great success among collectors, who are notable for their attention to accuracy and details.
In 1991 Benoit formed his own company, specializing in accurate scale models of cars that raced in the Le Mans 24 Hours, and started producing cars in 1/43 and 1/24 scales, later introducing the tiny 1/87 scale models. In 2003 LE MANS MINIATURES widened its horizon to include 1/32 scale slot car models. It is a challenge to move from static models to running models, so Benoît trained in CAD design to accompany this new development.
With the emergence of the Asian producers with modern technology giving new value for money, the distinction of being “Made in France” is no longer an indication of high quality, and the company takes a new turn in 2007 to remain competitive in the race. The Research & Development Department and the original moulding workshops remain in France to maintain the continuity of design and quality for all the product lines.

Exigence & fidélité

Requirement & accuracy

In 25 years LE MANS MINIATURES has acquired a reputation of very high standards in the world of model car collecting: the huge range of models combine accuracy with realism, and the reproductions are a high quality product.
Although today part of the production is outsourced, the R&D department uses all the new technologies for development, and constantly adapts to current and new processes of design and creation. The use of new raw materials as well as the integration of new components improves the performances and the reliability of each new item.
The moulding workshop installed within our warehouse is used for prototyping the engineering department developments, which can test the feasibility of the projects and the quality of materials and their implementation.

The company constantly attempts to develop a range of models in accordance with the principles on which it is built:

  • A fair quality-to-price ratio
  • A “top of the range” company image, striving towards excellence
  • A professional relationship, listening to our customers

LE MANS MINIATURES constantly tries to adapt, both to the regularly proposed and varied new products, and to the demands of improving the processes of production and communication thanks to the new technologies.

Expérience & Savoir-faire

Experience & Know-how

Thanks to his know-how and experience of manual conception and moulding processes, acquired over 35 years of experience, Benoît Moro was able to swing rather easily from the beginning of the 2000s into a complete and integrated plan by using CAD for the majority of new articles. However, every part designed by CAD must be tested and fitted by hand to ensure the integrity of the design.
Thus more than ever, the manual work and the artistic abilities of the model maker are at the heart of the creation process of an accurate miniature. For example, the finesse of sculptures and engravings of miniature figures remains the privileged knowledge of the artist who creates them.
The management of all the processes of creative ideas and designs includes the determination to keep the inspiration of the company in France.
Intended for collectors around the world, all of the cars and figures are produced with great care. In order to assure an optimal quality of our models and of their distribution, our workshop also serves as platform for quality control, and storage where goods are verified before being shipped to more than 25 countries.
